Perfectly equipped for the highest demands in measurement technology
Two factors are crucial for achieving a leading position in the field of railway testing and measurement technolog: highly qualified specialists and an efficient, modern infrastructure. We combine both under one roof. We operate our own top-equipped hall for the development and production of instrumented wheelsets, have a specialized competence center for pantograph simulations and mobile, technically mature systems such as our teest rig and calibration stand. This enables us to create the ideal conditions for precise, efficient and future-oriented test procedures - either directly on site or in-house.

Ideally equipped: In-house infrastructure for instrumented wheelset development and handling
We have a state-of-the-art infrastructure for the development and production of measuring wheelsets at our company site. First-class facilities and comprehensive metrological equipment ensure maximum precision, stability and standardization. The internal production environment also enables particularly short throughput times and rapid project processing - quickly, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The automated measuring wheelset test stand enables reproducible dynamic calibration for all track widths and wheel diameters. The test bench concept allows continuous accuracy monitoring of the process through redundant measurement of all force paths. In addition, the measuring wheelset can be dynamically balanced here for use. Quality assurance is completed with a realistic test drive of the measuring wheelset, including the software environment in the as-delivered state, as an end-of-line test.
The infrastructure includes
- Facilities for the parallel production of 12 measuring wheelsets
- Indoor crane and two electric forklifts
- ESD-protected working environment
- Air-conditioned room (for consistently ideal conditions, for example when attaching strain gages)
- Dynamic test bench for measuring wheelset calibration and end-of-line test
- Balancing according to ISO13260 limit values
Competence center for pantograph measurement - unique in Austria
PJM is the only company in Austria with accreditation in the field of pantographs - clear proof of our leading expertise in this specialist area. For precise simulations, we have invested in our own test bench to calibrate the measuring system. Extensive tests in the wind tunnel had proven that our measurement technology is non-reactive and underline the high quality of the developed systems. Thanks to the powerful measuring equipment, tests with up to two pantographs are possible simultaneously - and thus also realistic tests of multiple tractions.


Mobile test frame: Tailor-made fatigue strength tests directly on the vehicle
Strength tests can be carried out directly on site with our specially developed mobile pressure frame - a clear advantage for you as a customer. The modular design of the frame enables flexible adaptation to a wide variety of vehicle types and therefore guarantees maximum versatility. Thanks to on-site testing, existing infrastructure can be used efficiently and any necessary adaptations to the test object can be implemented immediately and easily. The mobile pressure frame has already proven itself in numerous static tests and stands for precise, professional and transparent measurement results. This mobile solution not only saves time and money, but also ensures maximum efficiency and high technical quality.
Precision - wherever it is needed - with the mobile calibration stand for measuring wheel sets
Precision is the top priority in measurement technology and calibration is a decisive factor. PJM has developed a mobile calibration test stand for measuring wheel sets to ensure measurement reliability even for on-site projects. The advantages:
- After reprofiling the instrumented wheelsets or other project-specific changes, recalibration can be carried out on site.
- The innovative, mobile calibration stand enables unprecedented time and cost savings
- The test stand is easy to transport and is therefore ideal for worldwide use.
