Pantograph

Measurements and simulations of the dynamic interaction between pantograph and overhead contact line

PJM is the only company in Austria accredited for the pantograph sector according to ISO/IEC 17025. As an accredited testing laboratory, we carry out measurements and simulations of the dynamic interaction between pantograph and overhead contact line. Our accreditation covers both measurements according to EN 50317 and simulations according to EN 50318.

To ensure precise and standards-compliant testing, we have made targeted investments in our infrastructure: At our company site in Graz, we developed a dedicated pantograph test rig that enables the calibration of our innovative measurement systems. Extensive test rig trials as well as wind tunnel investigations confirm the conformity and reliability of the system.

Our existing measurement system allows PTP-synchronous recording of several instrumented pantographs on coupled traction units. This enables precise testing not only of single traction but also of complex multiple-traction scenarios.
